AH! That sucks. I try to keep my nails short so this doesn't happen.

I've had these literally hundreds of times. Maybe that's cause I've always bitten my nails. When I get one, I bite it all the way off and then constrict it with a band aid or two if it starts to hurt.

Whats a hangnail ?? I keep my nails almost daily shortened to almost maximum

It's when the skin near the fingernail is kinda hanging. I don't really know how to describe it, I probably get them cause I bite my nails, not really an issue but its kinda painful especially on guitar.
