Hi Guys,

I'm practicing Piotr's Jazzy Blues Phrasing lesson and it's going well. It's just that I can't seem to get my head around the sweep at the end. For me the problem seems to be the positioning of my hand, the stretch to overcome the spacing from the 10th till the 14th fret (I have small hands) and the fact that it should be performed fast and accurate to be able to hear every note. Do you guys have advice on how to approach and practice this one?

Thanks!
Peter

This is indeed a tricky sweep, even though it's a bit easier to achieve good note separation with a clean sound.

I am a big fan of the fingerig Piotr uses for this sweep. However to get started quickly, you could try a mini barre here:

...using your middle finger.

As for the tricky stretch - I assume you have your left hand in a 'classical' position with the thumb on the back of the neck like Piotr (as opposed to have the thumb on top of the neck like you do when bending). If you want to record yourself or take a picture it might help us give you better advice.

Btw here is the lesson in question (part 6): https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/jazzy-blues-phrasing/
