Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Muse Goes Stoner by Gabriel Leopardi

Just had to do this one for Gabriels timing workshop.. was really fun to learn! I realized that recording only one guitar sounds too thin, so I did another recording and panned 70/70 l/r. Hope that's OK..

Hi Mad! Great job with this lesson!

You played the riffs perfectly and your guitar tone is exactly as the original lesson. Congratulations! It's a 10!

Excellent work, my friend. As Gab said, the tone is perfect and your timing is really tight.

The only thing that could sound better is the high part in the main riff. It would benefit from a small amount of vibrato and not cutting off the note too quickly. At the moment it sounds quite harsh.

That's all - everything else is solid!

Hey there! I agree with guys on the timming and tone - very well prepared in both cases. You definitely feel the groove. I like the way you chnages keep all notes ring as long as possible at change the position at the very last possiblke moments - very professional. Your left hand muting seems to be efficient in this riffing but I would suggest to review your left index shape for the riffing stuff - I would go more flat./ It could help you to master "noise gating" for some other types of licks. In this one you handle muting job quite well using other left fingers smile.gif

I was trying to refer to Ben's suggestion about the higher notes to be fixed at some points but after watchign a few times I was feeling more like "I see a little lack of confidence out there" rather than actually hear it.
