I'd say faster songs like Aces High (live version), might be hard for a beginner, it has some fast riffs that presents a greater challenge than Trooper for instance.

But like with everything in music it could be subjective, Aces High seemed harder to me than fear of the dark, someone might think otherwise.

I can play pretty much every Iron Maiden song apart from Number of the Beast which some say is one of the easiest so I agree with your point. My weakness is downpicking.

Especially in the 80's if you play along with any live versions.

Hey im a bit late to reply but i definately gota say that Deja Vu (as Jose Mena suggested) is one of the easiest maiden songs i have come across, first one that i learnt in full (the begining solo is realy easy too smile.gif). Awsome sounding riffs in it too smile.gif

If you know their version of the song "Woman in uniform" is not too difficult, as a fact I think it's the easiest one they made. Apart from that I can also recommend "Different World" and "The Wicker Man" (as the guys already said), maybe not the solo but the riffing is pretty simple. "Wasting Love" isn't too hard either, it was the first full Iron Maiden song I learned with solo too, I recommend it too.

After fear of the dark I've learnt the trooper and today I started working on Hallowed be thy name, it's great playing these classics I've been listening to all my life!, I can play the whole song along with the original songs, except the solos.

By the way I have a list and all your suggestions are in it, its a matter of time till I manage to play them all. Everything but the solos!, I'm afraid they are beyond my reach yet. I tried a bit the ones of the trooper, and they are so fast!, they seem to combine really fast repetitive legato licks. I'll put some time on the solos in the future, but only after I've learnt some more songs.

Btw i notice your avatar picture is Hugh Laurie hes the best actor on the planet IMO, ive read somewhere that he could only play intros of songs in his younger days! so i think personally you dont need to know the solos of songs right away:)
