Hmm I think most of people use their index and pinky..But you can do it your way its logical - one finger per fret.. But than I would add pinky if you need to play a tone more on the string below instead of barring..

I guess there is no wrong way to do it if you're getting the results and you feel comfortable.
Personally I use few ways, without thinking of it,sometimes it's : first and pinky, thumb and ring, first and ring, first, ring and pinky, first and middle first and bare with ring first and bare with pinky... no rule. -------------------- Youtube

I do it with my index and ring finger, and when I add an octave I add the pinky. I don't think you should worry about doing it wrong, if it's comfortable, it's good. I used t worry about how my fingers were placed when sliding around and stuff, but then I saw a youtube video with Jeff Loomis playing, and his fingers are doing the same so I stopped worrying about that.

That's crazy stuff though. Really cool. Looks like it'll make my hands hurt, but I'm working on my flexibility anyway so that might be a good thing. -------------------- Guitars: ESP Semi-Hollow Eclipse, 1984 Ibanez Roadstar RS440, Peavey T-60, Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom

You don't have to play whole lesson at once, take few grips to extend your vocabulary, later on you can add more pieces from it or to play whole lesson. -------------------- Youtube
