As you have probably noticed only http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/lick-of-the-day-v2/blues/, http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/chat/ and the http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/ works.

We are working on a fix and hope to have everything up and working very soon.

Ok this is turning into a nightmare thing. It's extremely frustrating as I cannot really do anything about this myself (except being really frustrated and angry).

I just spoke to Magnus - the engineer desperately working on this since this morning. The reason we haven't got the site up and running yet is because the huge databse backup we have got crashed his computer, he is now doing it from another - more powerful work station.

He estimated we will be up and running within the next hours...

My apologies for this! sad.gif

I can see the knowledge base is back, but it seems to be missing yesterday's changes. No biggie, just letting you guys know in case it helps. I'll refrain from doing any further changes there until the situation is back to normal.

Take it easy guys. poop happens. Specially with computers laugh.gif

Phew we are now back!

Tomorrow morning ( sometime around 8 o clock in the morning CET) we will perform an urgent database upgrade to prevent this from happening again. This will result in yet aprox ~30 minutes of downtime.

In short our database (containing forum, knowledge base and lesson info) has grown too large to for its' current structure and therefore needs to be upgraded. The site crashed today when the daily backup was being made.

To compensate for lost practicing time we will add another day to everyone's account.

My apologies again for this!

That's a generous offer. If anything, I practice more when GMC is down. Heck, if GMC went offline for a month, I'd probably make some real progress.

Glad you're getting the issue resolved.

Looks like things have smoothed out smile.gif Spiff! I think I missed the glitch. Things happen, seems to have been fairly minimal which is good wink.gif The good news is that the site came back up!

Posted by: Ivan Milenkovic Mar 31 2011, 11:12 AM

I missed this as well, cool smile.gif

I hope these things won't happen again, we work seamlessly here, and often forgot that tremendous amount of work is being done to keep the site going 24/7.
