Thought this might be interesting for some of you.
Marty Friedman has never sold a guitar in his whole life, but with the tragedy that is happening in Japan now, he is going to auction off every guitar used on Megadeth recordings, touring, videos, etc, giving all the money to the earthquake relief.
Could be a big oppertunity for Megadeth fans, while at the same time supporting those who need it.
He just announced it on facebook, so pictures and details will be up on the US website in a few days.
I would love to buy one helping Japanese people at the same time, but I will surely be outbid - I bet there are tons of richer fans Knowing how many artists have special place in their hearts for Japan, we can expect many bands tour Japan to show their "support".
Wow.. every guitar from the Megadeth days ???
I can understand his decision though.. when one looks at the scale of tragedy in Japan it kind of makes the whole 'rock star' thing unimportant. Good for him for being so giving.
What a great idea Put the guitars in the hands of fans and help quake victims in the process. Go Marty!
Todd
Amazing initiative and very humane! Hope he collects as much donations as possible!
The red carvin used for auditioning for Megadeth, as well as Cacophony tours, will be sold as well!
Wow, if he is giving all the money to the victims, that is very nobel of him. Respect!
thats right, RESPECT.
