That`s great! biggrin.gif The vocals definitely brought it up a notch. I think the doom and prog vocalist were those I could relate most to in terms of my own band, and what I`m listening a lot to, haha.

It's amazing how much a bit of vocals can do. As guitar players we often make instrumental music and skip the vocals. Most, but not all, non musicians often relate better to music with some type of vocal. There will always be a spot for instrumental music IMHO. It's just that now there is so much of it, because it's so easy to create these days, that it often doesn't stand out. if this vid didn't have the vocals I don't think it would have been as funny or as spiff.

I know it was probably intentional, but the clipping on the vocals really annoyed me. At first I thought it was my setup that was causing it or my headphones, but I'm not the only one to have noticed, it seems, reading the the comments on YouTube.

It was great and the bloke obviously enjoyed doing it.

Regarding your comment re vocals Todd, I think that's why Satriani was so popular during the Surfin and Extremist days, his guitar replaced the vocal so well. A lot of instrumental guitar music is like one long solo whereas Satriani, on those albums in particular, have his tunes a verse chorus verse structure in a way. IMHO anyway wink.gif

I agree all the way. The guitar melody line has to take the place of the vocal in guitar music. As a result, it has to be something very memorable and it doesn't hurt if it's simple enough to hum. That limits the complexity, but makes it much easier for folks to get it stuck in their heads. I always try to put a melodic repeating theme inside guitar solos, which is something I picked up from Mr Joe himself smile.gif
