The vocals definitely brought it up a notch. I think the doom and prog vocalist were those I could relate most to in terms of my own band, and what I`m listening a lot to, haha.

It was great and the bloke obviously enjoyed doing it. Regarding your comment re vocals Todd, I think that's why Satriani was so popular during the Surfin and Extremist days, his guitar replaced the vocal so well. A lot of instrumental guitar music is like one long solo whereas Satriani, on those albums in particular, have his tunes a verse chorus verse structure in a way.
