I thought it was a hendrix number at the start, hes very good though, I would pay to watch this guy for sure!!

I think that's a Cream cover, hence the Clapton sound. I think he's more like a British equivalent of Johnny Lang.
He has a lesson/interview from the current tour on Ultimate-Guitar.tv in which he teaches one of their newer songs. I'm always disappointed when they say "i don't really know any scales," but then he adds "maybe Minor Pentatonic and Blues scales.."
