Posted by: lee Mar 25 2008, 04:03 PM

Hi All

I have problems keeping time within a song.I understand the metronome lesson, but
can't seem to apply that to a song. Most song i attempt to play are in common time, and
are not that fast .Should i count four beats per measure, or individual notes like in the
metronome lesson? In other words what is the proper way to keep time in a song vs a
metronome exercise?PLEASE HELP

Well in a song you have also a time signature. Al you have to do is start counting on eht ebeginnign of the song properly and count every beat. The trick is to always know where the first beat is.
