I do paid work 1 day a week supervising and examining PhD students and undertaking and publishing my own research as articles in academic journals and as books. I also do unpaid work copy-editing and technical editing for a number of academic journals and publishers. Non-academic stuff - I run a small recording studio focused on recording, re-recording and mixing (I don't tend to Master) and also assist my wife when she needs audio/recording engineering on her media projects. (Her non academic work is media training and PR.) Some stuff I've done in the past - senior management consultant for a big international consultancy; various middle and senior management roles in different organisations; analytical chemist/lab manager specialising in identification and quantification of ultra low level trace pesticides by MS; session musician; roadie; various roles in recording studios; bar/pub work. WOW Man, you got my full respect for what have you done in your life ALREADY!!!!!! It's just a - WOW!! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

Hehehe yeah, seeing the ground closing in from the cockpit - not a fun scene for sure
That's a great job! I have a flying fear myself and i traveled by plane a year ago, from Croatia to Moscow - around 3 hours flight, i already said "Goodbye" to myself during the take-off and though something like: "Well, if the plane crashes, than it's just meant to be that way for me!" and than i was pretty comfortable during the flight. Night flights are the worst in my opinion - you just take off and go to big giant nowhere! The thing is - you have much bigger chances of dying in the car than an airplane. Jet crashes happen like once a week while car crashes are like 100,000 each day. -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |
