I'm not the right person to decide....but i'm have same problem like you...actualy i'm was try few days ago first time when i'm visit the guitar shop The Ibanez 2550z but i'm was realy impress after few minutes when the sale man bring me to try Ibanez SV 5470..The Guitar is similar to S 5470..and i'm have to say...the guitar just fit my body!!!!If i'm be have to compare 2550Z and Sv5470 i'm just have to say the SV feel werry mutch better on my hands like the RG...I'm just not sure what is bigest diferent betwen S-SV...for sure there be some diferents by Pickups and locking system but decide which is better be hard for me{the sales man also tell me the SV has slightly advantage against S with Hi-bends becouse there is not locking nuts on neck}
Like every body write you are trying to chode betwen 2 diferent Guitar...I'm also Geting crazy about non try yet Jackson slmg
and now the Ibanez..actualy for me is important how the guitar fit my body and the SV fit my body werry well...for sure i'm also heard some thing about the sustain but i'm belive thats cannot be so bad{specialy when i'm compane the ibanez and my axe on use now ltd viper 50
}..Pickups maybe not are top 1 but you can change them anyway and the tone and sustain of the guitar can be made with volume knob and right efect..and probaly the Tremolo on the new S series are realy good.....
best way for both of us be buy 2 guitar but money is always problem
if you like to play more styles like me and be more versatible i'm belive the Ibanez is better and shoot go first and when you get more money u will buy second AXE anyway
you are in war now...and you don't wana get wrong...i'm know that fealing
...my advice is to go to the store try booth of them and them buy totaly diferent Axe
{i'm just kiding} but somethime i'm belive can the strory finish for me
take easy and good luck with the chosing mate
