That would be an awesome comparison to make! I tried the Charvel GG at NAMM, SUCH a beautiful guitar.

Someone had bought the birdseye top one already by the time I got there, sadly. But the flame top one just looks amazing. It has a little bit of a steampunk feel to it with the custom brass-bobbin pickups, which I really dig. And the neck joint is elegant and as close to an Ibanez AANJ in terms of ergonomics as Charvel have ever gotten.

Unfortunately - as beautiful as it would sound, in terms of a mission (The comparative review, of course) there is none of these two guitars in Romania yet... smile.gif Maybe it could be a team project if we could find someone who has the Charvel or the possibility to get one and Ed could compile the review on 6SS biggrin.gif

Hehe, that would be awesome. Sadly, the chances of either one of those guitars in NZ is also pretty low! We don't have a dedicated Suhr dealer any more (used to, but maybe there wasn't enough demand to sustain the business) and the Charvels being brought in are mostly the mid-range Japanese and Chinese Desolation series.

What a desolation smile.gif In Romania - NO CHANCE smile.gif I mean, NO ONE here would be mad enough to start a business with Suhr guitars biggrin.gif THey would go down in less then 4 months sad.gif

It's sad to see that you can't put your hands on something because of the market evolution..

I'm with you on this one mate smile.gif What an absolutely stunning guitar - you know what I'd like to see? A comparative review of the Suhr GG and the Charvel GG guitars!

Who had a chance to try that one?

Right now there's a HUGE discount period for top level Ibanez guitars in Romania. The PRS dealer is also an Ibanez dealer and the discount campaign for Easter is awesome, out of what I can see - a lot of Premium RGs are brought to about 500 EUR which is pretty damn nice!

The place where I'm getting my guitars set up now is an authorized Surh dealer and has them hanging on the wall. The last time I was there I spoke with the sales rep which supplies the Surhr's to the store and he was giving me a little background about the founder John Surh which worked for Fender for years and sort of perfected his craft there before partnering up with someone else and creating the Suhr company.

The place is called Eastside Guitars, and it's a really good company story. When Guitar Center moved to town, just about every music store closed up,except for maybe 3. Eastside Guitar took a hit, but stayed at it, they even made their store smaller only taking up one space in a strip-mall as opposed to two,

Now that Guitar Center has been here for years, and they still have all the accessories you could want in stock so you don't have to order, they don't have but 1 or 2 high end guitars in the store. Everything is Epiphone or guitars in the $500 range.

When you walk into Eastisde Guitar, it's loaded with PRS, G&L and Suhr. It would be difficult to make a decisions on which guitar to purchase there. I got to where I trust their guitar tech more than the one at Guitar Center too - and it's really great to see a small locally owned business not just thriving, but putting Guitar Center to shame in the brands they keep in stock that you can put your hands on.

Ah! The sort of place for people who know what they want and also have the buck to get it wink.gif Nice! In here, there are pretty much a lot of stores in which you can find Fender, Gibson and PRS high end axes, but series ones nonetheless. People barely know about PRS and it's needless to say that bringing Suhr or G&L would not be a great move, unless you have wads of money to spend on marketing and advertising... Even so, would the sales make up for the money spent? I think not... shame.. shame sad.gif
