You must "roll" a bit with finger which is playing 12 fret,to avoid ringing.
Palm muting is welcomed as well.

Yeah, I have for example seen Canon rock by Jerry C (http://youtube.com/watch?v=by8oyJztzwo) when he comes to that long sweeping part, he rolls with his point finger.

PS: How to practise rolling? do you play a sweeping part with rolling in, or do u just roll over 3 strings?

Just practice it slowly first,and while building speed up finger will roll without problem.
