Hey,

I would ask you, what is your best motivation to practice.
I would be grateful for your response, perhaps one of them will be a good motivation for me and others.

Cheers,
Lukasz

My main motivation has always been that I love music so I always want to play music. But why getting better? Well, that motivation comes from watching my favorite bands and player play, watching live videos, and also going to live concerts. It's awesome how much motivation can give me a live show.... watching live GN'R, Foo Fighters, Muse among many others make me want to play music, make me want to practice.

Another thing that motivates me is listening to inspiring speeches, like this one:

It can vary wildly, but usually, watching a good youtube vid or one of the harder vids in the GUITAR LESSONS section here on GMC will do it for me smile.gif

Cool question -

For me, I have something inside pushing me - so if I don't progess I start feeling bad about myself. I am not really sure how healthy this is, but it sure pushes me forward!

Other stuff that can help me on a 'bad day'

* check out GMC/youtube videos
* play in a different genre (even if I suck at it)
* go out for a long walk
* try to write a tune / backing track
* play a different instrument (again - even if you suck at it, it's just to give you perspective)
* jam with someone
* record and upload something (do it all in one day, don't wait until you nail it perfectly)

My best motivation to practice it's my dream to become a very good guitarist/musician. From the moment when I decided this, I changed radically all my life. I'm very ambitious and with every step further that I make I want more smile.gif Nothing can distract me or keep me away from practice.
Also are many factors around me which help me to go in a right direction and bring out the best of me: GMC, watching at YT videos with great guitarists, guitar contests, collabs, listening music from classical to metal, playing at piano, working at my own songs, etc.

BUT....The number one and most important for my progress it's a perfect match between student-instructor. From my point of view a lot people can be instructors but not many instructors know the art of teaching...or other instructors might be great for others wink.gif
After 2 years of mentoring, I have totally trust in my instructor and I know that we can move the mountains together. Darek knows me better than I know myself and always he push my limits at maximum. The progress it's very fast and this gave me confidence in my forces. At this moment I'm able to practice how many hours I want without to feel myself tired or to lose my focus. An constant progress always will motivate me and will make me to work more and more and more.
So...to be honest even with my huge ambition and my military schedule for practice, without my instructor I would be far behind. Believe me I'm not kidding. I would never know which is the next step that I need to make or how much to push my limits.
