Hi guys,

I just installed a Motor City Solution (high output, passive humbucker) and want more output...I hate the PCB so if I wanna try a capacitor change from the existing 25V 223z ceramic - Does anyone have a suggestion that would give me more output?

Thanks!

I've never heard of a 'passive' cap change that can increase actual volume.
There is a passive mid boost thing for LP ...

You can also put 1k (1000 ohm) volume pots in there which will let more highs through.
Also you can do something that will take the tone pots completely out of the circuit which will also allow more highs thru ... which gives the impression of more output.

*The only way to really get more volume (DBs) is to have active p'ups or add an active boost into the axe.

Thanks for the answer! To clarify, I am not seeking more volume...I just realized what a fuzzy term "output" is... smile.gif

The pickup I have has the volume, and the tone....It was just not giving me the pinch harmonics and crunch I was expecting...I switched the cap to a .022uF 600V Orange Drop and the problem is solved...Squealies for everyone!!!
