Okay, so when I'm doing a lesson I always see a scale chart beneath the video, should I be meorizing these and if yes, shouldn't I know then all over the neck besides just one position?

The scales break down into types - Major/Minor etc, and each type has several variations. To be a good guitarist it helps to know all of these scales in general rather than memorizing a particular scale for a particular song. A good place to start is by using the CAGED system - take a look at my CAGED lesson here for starters!

Yea that definitely helped, before I think I was just a little intimidated by all this theory I have to learn, but you gotta start somewhere...
