> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi GMC,

Here's another REC take. In the style of Brian May smile.gif
Original: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...e-of-brian-may/

My take:

Gear:

Ibanez S 470 DXQM
Amplitube
EMU 0404 USB
Logitech quickcam C200 with another sound card for audio input.
I connected the headphones output of the EMU to the line in of the other sound card.

I missed 1-2 notes there but I like the feeling in this take so I decided to put this one.

Waiting the result smile.gif

Hey mate!

this was a good take! If you want to perfect it, in my opinion, you should smooth up the bends (and vibrate a little more rhythmical). Watch out for the ascending run around 0:12 the notes sound blurry, so you should pay attention on cleaning them up a bit - nothing your technique couldn't handle if you'll give it a little time. Otherwise - good work!! biggrin.gif

best of luck

Cosmin

Very nice take. Pay attention to bending technique. You need to hit the exactly right pitch (in this video you were a bit lower when bending). Also, vibrato could be more under control and overall smoother performance.
I think you just need few more days with this one to master it fluidly.
Also, don't forget to check tuning of your guitar before recording.
Overall - I liked your energy in the video! smile.gif

This sounds like a real fun lesson to play. I think you've got the basis for a real good vibrato.. I think you should work on that and take it further because you could be damn good at that with a little effort smile.gif

Bends weren't 100% but then they weren't that bad either.. the biggest thing for me was the triplet runs. You need to spend more time synchonising your right and left hands because at the moment they're working seperately. Even if the target notes at the end are strong, the effectiveness will be reduced if the runs in between are innacurate. But as Comsin said, it's nothing your technique can't handle. Just a little attention to hand synch and you'll be there cool.gif

Very nicely done! smile.gif

I think your timing is very good, and you played every note properly. However, you need to work a bit more on your vibrato and bends, and need to make those faster runs more precise.
