i have played a vintage les paul for 444 euro! sounded really great! only problem was: it was out of tune very often, but maybe that was only a les paul problem... the vintage strat looks really great. i think you cant to something wrong with buying that strat! i am thinking about buying one of them too!

Personally I'd take the Vintage over the Mexi, only because the Vintage has a 1 piece body as opposed to the Mexi's laminated one. Also, the Wilkinson hardware on a Vintage is of equal if not better quality too!

I tested this and a fender highway one. The V6 is really great but be aware that the distressed models are a lot better. Because of the very thin and in spots missing finish they resonate soooo much better. They are way louder already when not plugged in and sing really compared to the normal V6. The best one was in my eyes the V6MRTBG Blugocaster. Great budget strat.
However I bought a Fender Highway 1 in the end. It was even more stratty to my ears. More bell like attack in the middle position (which is a little weak in all the normla V6s and sounds better in the distressed version). The Blugocaster was really up to par with the Highwy 1. Only the trem was not really convincing. At least in the store models (might not have he best setup) the Fender trem was working a lot better and the Highway 1 stayed in tune a lot better. Since the Blugocaster and the Highway 1 cost about the same I got the highway 1

The link is a clip with Highway1 in the neck/middle split position through a Rat modded BH5H with just a trebble booster and some reverb

I thought you were going to buy that used Gibson Explorer pro?!? It's definitely better than some Mexican Fenders!

Yes right the woodsock is one of the distressed ones. I just had the feeling that the Blug signature one was def. better. But the woostock is def. a great budget strat and better than mexican strats.

But just to quote ZakkWylde If you can get your hand on an explorer pro. get that.

The Explorer Pro was propably a bit more expensive than a normal Explorer, I don't know for sure but I guess it was 1000-1200 Euros new... They are discontinued now and very sought after because of the smaller body and maple top so for one in a good condition with the original case and aftermarket EMGs the price is not too high...

Thanks Zakk i have been searching the web for a estimative price for a while now smile.gif

Not sure how good this one is, cannot make a judgment out of this video, but I would definitely try it out in a store. I tested one vintage LP, and it was a good guitar for the buck.
