Jan 7 2010, 11:18 AM	GMC:er Posts: 385 Joined: 8-February 09	I've been trying the 'keep your fingers close and movements small' technique for a while, and when I first started, it was a tough job. What I did was set the metronome to 60 bpm and played quarter notes while paying very close attention to my fingers. Thing I noticed was, that when your fingers are used to 'fly' you'll have a hard time controlling them, even at such a low tempo, but only practicing like this can help getting the control over your fingers back. I this kinda thing for about 2 weeks, 1-2 hours a day. I might not be a shred god now, but my speedplaying has definately improved! You are at GuitarMasterClass.net Don't miss today's free lick. Its really true... playing things REALLY slow makes Your finger memory remember where the fingers shall be when then playing it fast.. (think we discussed this in another thread a while ago...) Jazz player John Abercrombie used to play be-bop tunes in 30 bpm in order to get the phrasing right....
