Anybody that has a cat raise your hand.

Anybody that knows a cat loves to "knead dough" raise your hand.

....Okay, if you raised your hand on a least the last one, that's good enough. Story to be told.... smile.gif

My cat loves to knead, but he does it on me! This morning he crawled onto my bed. He started his purring and kneading, and I'm like... "No, boy, watch where you do that." He tried it on my face, my chest, my NECK! OW! Luckily I stopped him - he has sharp claws!!

He just doesn't understand what he is doing to his master.
Sound familiar cat owners?

His name is Prince. He is lazy and big. Not fat, the vet said, just a big kitty. And Heavy!!

Prince is Garfield? heh cute pic

You should teach him, change a bad habbit to a good one. Get him to knead the guitar neck instead, sure your'll go through a few guitars and faces in the training but imagine the end result - Super Rocker CAT!

Prince will no longer just be a washed up symbol!

From (who ever this is):

To International Super Rocker Star!

Jokes aside...

A cat that loves to knead is a sign of contentment and being happy, but they might of been taken away from their mother at an early stage of life. They learn it as kittens when breast feeding off their mother to increase milk flow and link that to happiness and soft warm comfort.

1) Adult cats do it when taken away from their mother and learnt to do it to humans for affection, they will sometimes even suck on their tail in this case as a habit,
2) or your cat has adopted you (normally its a blanket) to use like a security blanket, cats will also sometimes do this to fuzzy stuffed animals, such as teddy bears.
3) or your cat is simply about to settle down for a while in a comfortable location. In this case on your head to suffocate you while you sleep, lol.

Note cats may appear surprised or irritated if it is disturbed while kneading. They don't like being disturbed when doing it.
I think your got yourself one very happy and spoiled cat there smile.gif

However, for your safety I recommend taking the test: http://www.catswhothrowupgrass.com/kill.php

One of my cats, a fat one, kneads my back for as long as 20 minutes. As he is really fat, and he hits the right spaces, I find this very enjoyable, a free back massage. I throw a heavy blanket over myself to protect me from his substantial claws.
