Just finished recording vocals this morning and wrapping up all the mixing. Its a bit long, and its not really meant to be "easy listening". There are a lot of subtle changes with the riffs, little things I add to keep it more interesting - So its really meant to be something you think about while you listen (I like that kind of music). It's also the fifth "interval" in my little sci-fi epic. (I call them intervals because thy are more loosely associated than chapters, and are open to interpretation).

The first four Intervals followed a man who escaped from Earth as it was destroyed by monstrous machines (Intervals 1 and 2), and he made his way to a massive super-structure that was built into the fabric of the universe, where he had to connect his own nervous system to a sentient form (Interval 3) that had chosen him to recreate a universe for life to live in away from the xenocidal machines. After he succeeds in creating the first "big bang" (Interval 4), he begins to contemplate on why humanity was worth saving - and recalls his biggest regret.

This song, lyrically, is a massive metaphor for his biggest regret, whatever you pull from it - is up to you.

Parallel Infinities, Interval 5:
The Waves As They Crash Against The Stars
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Our minds are the Earth atop the sea
A fragile ship drifting amongst cosmic waves
Immersed in this obtuse reality
Minds separate and drown alone
Winds guide our consciousness to the skies
Where our bodies rest on the clouds of Sol
The sea and clouds drift away, lost forever to the stars

The black hole inside you is devouring your form
Slowly drowning Earth in the sea

Galaxies fall apart
Crumble lifelessly into colliding...
Waves crash against the stars drowning them in our seas
Swallowed with the Earth
Infinity is the only thing I'll long for
Just one more century
To undo all that I have …
Done to this world, to myself
But I shall remain
Pariah Unforgiven

Our minds we're the Earth atop the sea
A fragile ship drifting amongst cosmic waves
Drowning in this obtuse reality
Minds separate and die alone

Galaxies fall apart
Crumble lifelessly into colliding...
Waves crash against the stars drowning them in our seas
Swallowed with the Earth
Infinity is the only thing I'll long for
Just one more century
To undo all that I have …
Done to this world, to myself
But I shall remain
Pariah Unforgiven

I must say I'm really impressed with your work man, I'm following these intervals and stories and it really shows you put a lot of effort to it. The story kinda reminds of King Diamond, although your work is original and unique in its own way! smile.gif

So is this like a musical story or something? smile.gif Kinda like a movie, but a music movie/story? Really cool! cool.gif

I noticed the rhythm guitars were in front of the drums at times. huh.gif

What do you mean? Like the drums should be brought more forward in the mix?

Yes SoundCloud is really great. Im already dangerously close to the stock 2 hour time limit, but it lets your files be completely uncompressed and in any format, no mp3 and below 25mb size. This particular song is about 230mb.

It's only a couple of parts here and there. An example is 3:48 - 4:01.
