GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Poll: Who Needs My Spoken Video?

Posted by: Guido Bungenstock May 11 2021, 04:49 PM

Hi guys,
I think this is the 1st time I'm posting here! biggrin.gif
....
I'm very interested to know who really needs my SPOKEN VIDEO on my instruction videos?
If nobody cares about this (Which is absolutely fine, hehe) it would save me a lot of time to make it.

So, I'm interested what you think. THX! ;-)

cheers Guido

I love your spoken videos, not only do they allow me to better connect with you (because let's face it - we have never met IRL ๐Ÿ˜Ž ). But also they are the best 'mirror into your soul' - because we can really tell what aspects of the lesson you really dig. I can imagine that for some - they might even be the best instructional part.

I will be interested to hear what others say!

I think spoken parts are great and make the experience more life like.

Since Gab has been giving video feedback I feel like I'm closer to him as a friend, I've even given a speaking video feedback to him (something I would never have done in a million years before joining GMC).

In summary, instructors talking to the student really does improve the experience and is much more simulating cool.gif

I think it's best to keep them, if it's not too big a problem to make for you. It's always great to elaborate a bit in the way you do. I think there could be even more spoken parts for lessons here at GMC (not just in your videos).

For whatever reason there does seem to be a disconnect from the instructor when there is no spoken part. Although I can deal with this I can understand others preferring it to be there. It's great that you are reaching out to the community for the feedback.

YES! I really enjoy your spoken videos Guido! I feel more connection with you and the topic covered when watching them.

My new lessons will include spoken videos as well! smile.gif

I really enjoy your spoken videos!

You are not blabbering, you dive straight to the point, and I learn so much about the thought and reasoning of the notes/scales you are using.

Please, keep those spoken videos up.

Guido it's all about quality (not quantity) - and I can assure you we are some fine people ๐Ÿคฉ

I personally love the spoken videos. smile.gif Beside the fact that it let us create a much "closer" connection with the instructor, some spoken videos contain very good tips (about tone used and some particular licks execution).
As an example, I learned one of my favorite lick from Kris's spoken video ("Bouncy Fun" lesson). The way how he explained this lick was absolutely awesome and made me learn this correctly and in a easier way.
For some particular licks is not always enough just to see them played slowly. A few additional tips sometimes can help us to execute them in a good way.

So....I'm the one who always watch the spoken videos (sometimes I watch them few times, if contain more tips) and also I'm the one who read everything is wrote under each video from each part of the lesson. smile.gif

Hi,
and thx again for your feedback! I actually see it the same way like you but only 11 people out of 25.000(!) users voted. That brings me to the point where the majority is not interested in my spoken videos.
Sad but true!

Hi Guido,

let me add my vote then, even if is not enough to get even close to 25,000รจ Having spoken explanations, even short ones, are really a help, at least for me...
I hope you will keep on doing them.

I think it's only because most users don't use the forum. I'm absolutely sure our small section is a good picture on what the remaining users would vote too cool.gif

Hello Guido,
I didn't do a very good job of conveying my point originally so I made some heavy edits to hopefully be more clear. I hope you didn't already read my post before the edits.
Keep in mind that only a very very small fraction of the members of GMC actually participate in the forums. The percentage of members that use the instructors videos may not be that great of a number either compared to the total number of members so I don't think a forum poll is an accurate gauge of the popularity of your spoken videos if you are going to use the total number of members as a denominator. A more accurate polling would be to first ask who watches your spoken videos and then poll those members.
I would venture to say that the popularity of your spoken videos among those who view them is very high if not 100%.
