I read this at the weekend and thought it was one of those ideas where you think, "Why didn't I think of that?".

Many of you may have done it, it's possible that I'm the only one on here that hasn't laugh.gif

Put a looper at the front of your chain, then you can loop the clean signal and fiddle with the pedals/amps etc after the loop until you get what you want.

I have tried it yet but it sounds like a neat trick.

Go on everyone, tell me you already know laugh.gif

Hello folks,

I read on here many times about "telling a story" with your playing, I've never really understood what it meant, I mean, I know you can with lyrics BUT, I watched something the other day that hopefully made me understand. The video below is an English vocal coach analysing a song, she has done others where she mentions story telling which also made me realise (I hope) what it actually means.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's about how you express the notes, the dynamics, etc. Kind of like listening to a five year old read a story from a book, it's very monosyllabic and then you hear the same story read out by a Shakespearean actor and it comes to life, same words just amazing expression.

So please correct me if I'm wrong, it's not really about telling a story, but making that story (your music) come to life with expression and dynamics.

She only mentions it a couple of times but I think it made me understand "story telling".

Here is the video and also the original beneath.

When Pete asks him how he would teach vibrato and he says "I see young kids..........." funny laugh.gif he is beyond his years. I hope he doesn't lose interest and we get to see him mature. He's been playing for less than three years blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

Hello folks,

How do people like Mr Vai get sustain and vibrato on the 24th fret, I'm trying for the latest Metallica collab but the notes just die very quickly.
