Thanks Gabriel
Just to sum up: guitar is just an hobby, never I will play in front of people, just my own enjoyment. Like pop-rock, blues-rock music, in 5 years I want to reach a level that let me follow tab/chords chart to play my favorite tunes. I know a bit of theory and willing to study more, however I am more concerned (at this stage) on the physical aspect of playing.
I have started the Picnic chords lesson, want to start from the basic, as soon as I am ready will post here a clip with my 5 different rhythm.

Thanks
Carmine

Hi mate! Good job!

The rhythms are now learnt. You just need to dedicate some more time to this in order to adjust timing and feel more comfortable with each of them. This will give you a good base to get into other lessons.

These are some good suggestions to start working:

Hello Gabriel
thanks for the reply.
I have started the lessons. On the Oasis track, on the main progression, how are you doing the strumming? I go Down Down Up Up then in the last beat it should be down down up, but I sometimes play it with Up Down Up. Any help?

I am also playing the Ed Sheeran track, I do not know a lot about his music. The chords reminds me of me guitar hero, The Edge, with just a subtle change of the root note like in I Sill haven't Find What I Am Looking For. In the arpeggio should I use Economy Picking or Just alternate picking?
Regards
Carmine

Hi mate, great to know that you are already working on these ones!

When playing strumming in Oasis lesson, I keep moving my hand up and down in 16th notes to keep the groove and reach the strings only when it's required. Please check out the slow videos to see what I'm doing there. The strum is: (down - up down - down up - up down - up down). This happens automatically if you do what I've suggested. Let me know if it's clear.

For Ed Sheeran arpeggio, both techniques would be ok, but economy picking is my choice here.

Hi Gabriel
I think there is a small mistake in the Ed Sheeran tab. The chorus (starting with the E chord) should start at bar 26 and not 30 (i.e. in the tab the bridge is 4 bars longer than the performance).

Hi Carmine, thanks for notifying! I'll check it and fix it. wink.gif

How is it going?

Hi Gabriel
I am studying and practcing both lessons, not a lot but doing it. Still struggling a bit with the Oasis rhythm pattern. I think I am following the tab and the acoustic guitar that is dubbing the distorted electric guitar. Apart form this I have no particular problem, I have only to put all the pieces together, it will take a while but will post a video when ready.

Have a great day
Carmine

Good evening Gabriel,
I can not "lock" in the strumming on the video 1 of the Oasis lesson. I think the tab is for the acoustic while you are playing the strumming as above but I can not replicate it. Finding a rhythm that "matches" with a song is one of my long term aim, so maybe this is something I would like to see. Can we break down in smaller part or can you give me some tips on how to listen to the rhythm?
Thanks a lot
Carmine

Hi mate, no matter how much this will take, let's do everything to help you to master the rhythm part of this lesson.

I've uploaded video part 1 to youtube so you can use the slow down feature there. Let me know if it helps you to get the right hand movements.
