Ainsley can't even touch Stevie! No one can!

So in return, i could use an answer...

Is there any point in getting a tubescreamer, when not having a tube amp??

Good question, in my opinion a tube screamer is the best distortion pedal ever, but I never used it with a non tube amp, all my amps are tube amps wink.gif

I want it to carry around so I can put amps on clean, and bust out the blues power:D no heavy distortion, pretty much gain at 1 and level at 10 woohoo

Ainsley is good, no doubt, (got tickets to see him and buddy whittington in Liverpool, hell yeah!) but comparing him to the master is a bit unfair! Such a cool vid that Jesse!
On the TS issue: its a hard one that mate, the TS is really quite mild compared to some overdrives and distortions but it kicks serious ass, i have a ds-1 as well and its not even in the same league, no way!

Yes! I can't speak for all brands and models but one with both a Level and Gain would be useful. What it'll do when there's no tubes to push is that it will simulate the sound of a pushed tube amp.
I can't imagine the tube-simulated sound is as good as the real deal though, hardly.

And I'd get one with both Gain and Level.

That's never been in question!! wink.gif

I used to use a TS with a peavey solid state Bandit, great sounds! Not the same as pairing it with a Tube Amp but still good!!
