Good question, in my opinion a tube screamer is the best distortion pedal ever, but I never used it with a non tube amp, all my amps are tube amps

Is there any point in getting a tubescreamer, when not having a tube amp?? Yes! I can't speak for all brands and models but one with both a Level and Gain would be useful. What it'll do when there's no tubes to push is that it will simulate the sound of a pushed tube amp. I can't imagine the tube-simulated sound is as good as the real deal though, hardly. And I'd get one with both Gain and Level. -------------------- My bands homepage
