One of my all time favorite games is Final Fantasy 7, and I realized there weren't many metal covers of some of the songs, so I decided to try to do one. I'm hoping I can still ride the hype from the Final Fantasy VII Remake Part I a bit.

I will be doing a full video production playthrough soon too. That's my plan at least. But for now, here's a quickly done video, so you guys can have a listen!

It is based upon this, which is the original track:

I only recorded the guitars and keyboards. Drums and bass have been programmed (but by me too, through Guitar Pro to begin with) smile.gif I started out with looking at the sheet music for the song, then wrote some parts based on the melodies.

I always write all my projects in GuitarPro and then I work from that. Some things might change between writing and recording of course.

Here's the Guitar Pro file I made:

Thats nice man. Can you read music or only guitar tabs?
IT sounds like a lot of work to programm it into guitar pro but once you have it you cab alway look again to it if you need.
Yes real 😎

I read a bit of sheet music, but I'm very slow at it, however tablature like in Guitar Pro I'm basically sight reading and able to play meanwhile if within my abilities.

I've used Guitar Pro this way since about 2004, so I know it inside out, and I can probably program drums faster this way than someone can in their DAW. smile.gif

I love it Cael! I could follow this project from the beginning (it didn't take long though) and I have to say that the final version is amazing.

Yeah, this was a quick one to do! It's a simple melody but very effective!

I hope I can do more game music covers. I already had a friend ask if I could do anything from the games Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.

Very impressive work as always!! Can't wait to see the video as well!! Are you gonna pull any people in for a collab? Other keys/bass/etc? it's always a good idea to try to get others to collab as a way to cross pollinate your audience and generate more traction. Then again, some folks could give a toss about traction.

I did consider asking one of my online friends who play drums if he wanted to participate, but I think I'm just going "solo", but recording video for guitar and keys. If I had a bass I would do that one too.
