Hi, I like metal a ton but I just cant get myself to listen to metal with screaming vocals in it even if I like the guitar parts. So I'm asking if you guys could name me some metal bands that are simular to Iron Maiden as they dont have screaming vocals and they have some soft parts too. Preferebly some of the rarer bands and not just the first metal classic bands. Thanks for the help
Iced Earth, Jon Schaffer, the guitarist and main songwriter, his favorite band is Iron Maiden, and you can really see the influence in the way he harmonizes and such with melodies, And he always has an amazing singer with him, Like Tim Owens or Matthew Barlow.
Its not entirely like Iron Maiden obviously, but 95% of Maiden fans probably would like Iced Earth.
and just for fun ...
Power Metal might suit your style.
Helloween
Stratovarius
Lord Weird Slough Feg
Manticora
Galneryus (the vocals are a bit rough because the guy is Japanese)
Helloween is a good choice, Didn't occur to me there. And yeah, power metal will have the most bands that have strong maiden influence.
Check another amazing band here, Angra.
lol, I know I already posted a cover of Number Of The Beast, but Angra has one too
Edguy:
Other metal bands that you could check: Sonata Arctica, Symphony X, Rhapsody, Hammerfall, Avantasia, Shaman, Kamelot, Dragonforce, Dream Theater and many more!
I just remembered this one: This singer's voice sound very similar to Dickinson but I never listened to a complete album.
Hey there,
I'm a major metal fan, so I could probably write which bands and guitarists I enjoy, although they may not all sound exactly like Iron Maiden. These bands are probably very known, but it's what I mostly listen to !
- Metallica (at times)
- Guns N' Roses (has very melodious songs and solos and nice lyrics, although it isn't heavy metal)
- Stratovarius (is a power metal band, and has very nice rhythm and solos)
- Yngwie Malmsteen (and Rising Force)
- Michael Angelo Batio
- Steve Vai
- In Flames (although the vocals tend to be similar to a dog with 1/2 litre of mucus down his throat, barking)
- Skambankt (Norwegian metal ... Check out the songs "Skamania" and "Dynasti")
A short list, most of the music is very known, except maybe for In Flames and Skambankt, depending on your musical knowledge...

Oh sorry, I have one more band I could add. Their solos are pure marvels, and the vocals are also very well done, without incomprehensible growling ! Manowar ! They are a Viking / Norse mythology-based band, and I can truly recommend the "Gods of War" album, with my favourite song "Sons of Odin" !
They are not always Viking and Norse Mythology based, but there latest album is yes, I love Manowar. Been listening to them for a decade now, and I never get tired of them, Hail Manowar!
Oh wow, a lot of new bands to look over! haha, thats Gmc for you. Thanks for all the help guys

Hey Slash48 - I have the exact same problem - I get turned off by screaming vocals and I am a major Iron Maiden fan (although I am not a particular fan of Bruce Dickerson's voice either).
Here are some bands you might be interested in:
Evergrey - great vocals and music overall - his live performances are not as good as the studio versions. Check out songs like Mark of the Triangle.
Kamelot - good music and vocals (Check out the song Love you to Death for an amazing ballad)
Vanden Plas - great vocals and good music (check out Daylight ?? album)
I hope my comment helped, slash48, although, as I probably said, they aren't all in the same genre as Iron Maiden. I just find they have clear vocals and nice melodies, although they can be heavy
