GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Ghosts, Spirits & Demons!

Posted by: FretDancer69 Jul 31 2007, 11:48 PM

Hey guys, i was searching in Youtube for some stuff and found this. By far, this is the best video ive found in Youtube about ghost and demons. Also, Owen's thread inspired me to post this, although not with the same purpose.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deoJUBW9CI8

The first stuff that is shown in the video its not a big deal, but keep watching, some things might amaze you, some might not.

My purpose is not to make you believe, but just to enjoy these kind of stuff like i do smile.gif

have fun, and enjoy.

peace smile.gif

EDIT: I found another interesting video. This video was filmed in a cemetary. Check the video out, its a short video.

The majority of this stuff seems so set up to me. Who prowls around their house at night with a video camera? The kid in the hall was the best part, but thats easy enough to set up yourself. I believe most of the rest is edited or set up as well smile.gif Never had a paranormal experience, doubt I ever will.

However i have seen some cool stuff before that seemed fairly believable, but I'd have to find it again. Something with two guys that had some equipment, I remember them like detecting something in a locker or something, it was interesting. But until someone gives me some solid evidence, or I experience something I cannot explain myself, I call shenanigans!

Posted by: Hungus Aug 1 2007, 08:33 AM

Thats a pretty awesome video.... its all rubbish but still amusing though.

Demons and ghosts are only real when your on mushrooms or datura or something like that....

Well, the clips from the video might be a setup, or they might not be. About the kid in the hall, yea can be easily set up.

lol, imo there is no way some1 can prove stuff like this to someone else, you have to experience it, and you can only experience it if its real.

If you think about it, when you piss of a ghost, all he does is moves things around, open and close doors, and play with your camera, Basically he does what any 6 year old would do, maybe he should take your car out for a joy ride and bring it back with a horrible new paint job, THAT would be weird.

Sure is fun to watch. When I was a teenager I lived in the basement of our house. I was kind of beliving all of these things, which I belive also makes it easier to see and be convinced. But one time in the middle of the night I went to the bathroom, which was right outside my bed room, in the basement too i.e.
When I opened my bedroom door, well first off it's like this, I always used to turn on the light in my room since it was quite a bit to the switch for the light in the hallway. Past the bathroom to be exact and at age 13-14 I wasn't very keen on walking in a pitch dark spooky hallway with a couple of doors on each side.
So, the light in my room was turned on and I opened the door and I saw the bathroom door closing. It went from full open (like if you imagine it being 90 degrees open, not a full 180 degrees) to closed, not shut but you know like if you give the door a push and it slowly goes almost shut.
Well, I found it spooky but I figured my brother went from upstairs to the toilet downstairs and just gave the door a swing before disappearing through the third door that led to the staiway.

I'll finish the story in a second, I just want to add that when living there in the basement, this occured some 25 years ago now, I remember having terrible nightmares - or if it was something I senced when being half asleep and half awake - about figures sitting next to my bed or sounds from outside my wall. But as soon as I woke up or what I did and turned on the light beside my bed all disappeared. All that was left was sheets that were wet from cold sweat and my body was all sweaty and I was freezing.

End of this story that I still don't know the answer to is that next morning during breakfast I asked who went to the basement toiled, the reply didn't make me feel very sequre since noone had been there...

Later in age between 18-25 something I used to take a rest during daytime and maybe once a year or so I had these wierd experiences. I think there's a name for it, for this state of body and mind, but I can't remember what it is. Maybe someone else know when I tell how I felt.
Taking a rest but suddenly feeling awake, I could sence some precense in the room, hostile, trying to call out but I can't. Trying to get up but I can't move a muscle. It's like the only things working is heart beating and I'm breating. But I can't move and I can't speak, not even whisper but I'm fully aware of my surroundings, and this presumable hostile presence.
After what seem to be forever this state loosen up and I can so to say "wake up" like normal and move and speak. By at this time the precense is gone already.

Beeing a teenager living in the basement feeling scared had it's charm, so did the "wake" state but now it's been ages. It certainly was great for ones imagination if it had nothing else positive. Oh, and I watched a lot of scary movies as a teenager about ghosts and zombies etc and I belive that helped laugh.gif

Anyway, now a days I can appreciate scary movies like "the grudge" and "ringu", I lost interest for splatter movies like "feast" f.ex but still enjoy zombie flicks a lot, not so scary though as they used to be laugh.gif
The real world and all the bad things going on there is more scary than fiction and that could be part of the problem, it's killing ones imagination.

Creep up on me from behind and should BOH and I might jump. Should apreciate those moments I guess.

Recently, like 10 years ago, I lived in a 200 sqm old house all by myself. Far out by the country side, the house had lots of history (our family house) where the older part of the house was built in like 1650 and the newer part in 1810 or so. Very old, all the possibilities to be a haunted house but I guess I was too grown up since nothing scared me there. sad.gif
A funny thing happend once though. Me and a friend were rehearsing there before a trip abroad to perform (with MIDI backup). During a break we went up to the attic and looked through all the old stuff. My buddy found an old cain and started to fool around walking like old and crippled, fast cain walking and other fun stuff. The day after when he woke up his right foot was all swollen and he couldn't stand on it. I had to drive him to the hospital and the got support for the foot and crutches and was disabled for two weeks.
Never happened to him before, and up til today never again. I have learned one thing and that is to not trust random occurances. Fooling around with a cain, day after a swollen foot, of course it was the owner of the cain watching and not appreciating the joke with funny walking and had his revenge by putting my friend on crutches.

I guess it's healthy to keep an open mind laugh.gif

To MickeM:

Thats an interesting story MickeM. Most of the time, when i go to sleep i "feel" a pressence, cracks everywhere, footsteps, "stuff" and a "presence" sitting next to me..Watching my sleep...or my awake. Sometimes when im dreaming, i see myself from the ceiling..sleeping..and stuff around my room. But it must be my imagination unsure.gif . The Mind is a very powerful thing you know.

One of the things I love about having a 7 year old daughter is that she really wants to believe in fairies, ghosts, talkiing animals, microserf software that works (ok not that - too far fetched)... She sort of is part way between the mundane and fantasy. She believes in the toothe fairy, father christmas and still recites her times tables etc...

In some ways I think part of the magic of being a child is that essentiality icon belief, she doesn't want proof albeit she'd be very upset if the tooth fairy forgot... Bit from the bible, paraphrasing heavily and misquoting is 'as a child we see the world in colour but as an adult through a glass darkly'...

Having said that I've spent decades as a research scientist (albeit to rather question later on) and so struggle constantly with paranormal arguments. However maybe we all need a bit more colour...

Or maybe the lizards have come for me again with that hose pipe unsure.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

I know exactly what this is! It's sleep paralysis, I used to induce lucid dreaming and this was common. Sleep Paralysis is something we all go through but don't realize it, it's our body's own way of protecting ourselves from acting out a dream in real life. What you felt, was probably Sleep Paralysis with a mild case of Old Hag (I say mild because you didn't actually see any figures).

It's really a terrifying state if you dont know what it is, you cant move, speak, or do anything but look.

If anyone is interested, www.ld4all.com is a great site for this kinda stuff.

I've got a scary story of my own though. A few years back, my entire family was in New Hampshire (I'm in NY) visiting my grandparents, and I was alone in the house. About the time I was falling asleep, I had a few things in front of my door to keep it closed so I could see the tv, as the lock was removed and the hinges would sometimes ease it open, though putting anything in front of it would stop it. To give you a better idea:

___________
| TV
|
|Door
|
|Bed
---------------

So I have my skateboards, a water jug (with lots of change in it), and a box of my old PS1 games in front of the door. As I'm slowly falling asleep watching Leno, the door opens fully, scaring me so badly I hid under my sheets. There was at least 25 pounds of weight holding the door closed, and I was alone for the past 2 days. I woke up the next morning and wouldn't get out from under my covers.

Four days later, still alone, at midnight, I heard a "GAHHR" sound coming from my living room. I knew nobody with this voice, and dove under to covers once again.

Until I moved, every time I was at my computer desk, every five minutes I would get some odd feeling to turn around and look at the door, and see a dark shadow disappear.

Thanks! I will check it up. If I remember well I more felt a precense than actually saw it. This precense was usualy in the corner of my eye and not a very clear figure (and in this state I couldn't turn my head). But to me it was very real and it was dangerous. I was struggeling to get up and fight, rather with a weapon of some sort since I was convinced this situation was for life or death.
So if it was some sort of state of protecting my surroundings it was probably good, and there for a reason.

I'm happy you knew what I was talking about, now I'm off to read up on it smile.gif

In regards to your story. Isn't it strange how sheets and pillows can protect you and make you feel a bit safer?

Posted by: FretDancer69 Aug 3 2007, 07:52 PM

Amazing story Ayen, thanks for sharing. And yes ive heard of Sleep Paralysis, and i know some Asians, (not sure if the japaneese) have a different name to it and slightly a different and more mythical meaning: The Sleep Paralysis is supposed to be caused by an evil spirit that wont let you move, open your mouth and you can only move your eyes. Pretty much the same thing imo.

Feel free to, I'd like to hear your story.

Posted by: JVM Aug 4 2007, 06:54 AM

Do share. Some good stories coming out of this thread.

Posted by: VinceG Aug 4 2007, 07:08 AM

Well both these stories surround the death of my grandma. She lives in Philie. Before she died, we decide that it was just right to let her see the rest of the family in Philippines. She stayed in my other grandmas house (there sisters). My grandmas lot works like this. The main house is infront and theres 2 other houses behind her house. So all in all in that lot, she has 3 houses which houses my grandmas sons.

When my grandma, the one about to die, she stayed in one of the houses. After she died, my grandma and my other cousins was sensing that someone is living in that old house that no one lives in. They see that the lights are open and when they checked it out, the ghost became angry and thrashed the place right infront of my uncle.

When it was my grandmas 4th death anniversarry or something, we forgot that she died that day and our house was full of smoke. Like our house was burning but w/o the fire. We got worried and called like the fire department but they didnt sense anything. Not one thing was burning, yet our whole downstairs area was full of smoke. My dad came home the next morning and he told my mom that for some reason, he smelled burning w/o fire. Then they realized we forgot my grandmas death. Freaky if you ask me.

Another story:

We have a broken computer. Like this computer was just terrible that we dont even use it. One night while we were watching TV in the living room, our computer is in the living room as well, the computer suddenly just turned on out of nowhere. About 4 hours later my mom receaved a call and she said that one of my dad's closest friend died.

Another story:

On my grandmas house in the philippines once. She has this small hall in the outside kitchen and its dark in there at night. I was walkin in there once and I wasnt paying attention that someone just passed me. Saw my grandma at the end of the hallway and asked her who was the girl walking in the hallway and she said nobody's home but you and me.

Another story:

We went to philippines for a vacation about a year ago. I was doing the number 2. Someone walked in the door and I said who it was. Like you can hear that person was walking. Then out of nowhere the walking stopped. Someone entered the room again and I asked who it was and it was my dad. I asked him who was in the room earlier and he said that no one entered the room because everyone was hanging outside the house.

We usually get some unusual signs when something bad happens. Im sure theres more paranormal happenings but I just cant recall them at the moment.

Posted by: Smikey2006 Aug 4 2007, 07:17 AM

If i ever meet a demon, it better have mikael akerfelts voice... biggrin.gif .. who called that i would bring opeth into this smile.gif

Posted by: Ayen Aug 4 2007, 07:46 AM

First story with the smoke really creeped me out. I'd heard of things being tossed around the room, but smoke filling an entire floor without anything burning is something else altogether.

Second story, I used to have that problem. My computer's power supply would act up and randomly restart during the night, a few settings in the BIOS being changed fix this.

Third story, I would've gotten the heck out of there. Grandma's on her own!

Fourth story, maybe the person left the room when they heard your voice and realized your presence? If not there are some perverted ghosts in the Philippines.

Thanks for sharing, Vince, these are really interesting.

Since were sharing Ghastly Stories, ill add some as well smile.gif

When i was about 14-15, i was staying at my friends house overnight and i was sleeping on an air matress about 6 feet across from where my friends was sleeping on his bed. i woke up and when i looked over i saw the side of the bed he wasnt on depress suddenly, as if someone layed down next to him, and it wasnt little, it was about half a foot pressed in and about 6 feet long. when i woke him up (by thrwoing pencils at him), the second he turned over the depression dissapeared, and about 15 seconds later his back door opended real fast and shut real hard. It wasnt his parents because we would have seen them, and it was locked, we would of heard a key or something.

Posted by: Ayen Aug 4 2007, 06:52 PM

Flipped out and started running and screaming like a girl...

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 4 2007, 07:01 PM

At first it was silent, then we got up, looked into the back yard, nothing there, then we just kinda laughed and said "Pretty tripp eh?", although it scared the hekk out of me, it was an interesting experience smile.gif

Yea Demon Possessions somehow only happens in third world catholic countries. Oh yea brings me to a story about my dad a little over 10 years ago. When we use to live in Philippines, my dad was doing some yard work and he accidentally stepped on an acorn-like substance. His foot became swollen in just a couple of hours after the incident. Over the course of 6-8 months, his foot became so swollen that he could barely walk at all. During that time, my parents went to over 10 hospitals and doctors trying to figure out whats wrong but they couldnt find anything wrong with it. Then they went to like a person who does all those crazy stuff when spirits invades your body. The girl rubbed some ointment and prayed on my dads foot. My dad did this for a matter of weeks and his foot is better in a little over a month or so.

I read all you'r stories. Thanks for sharing them, they were all really interesting and some scary as well.

About Demonic Possesion, well, i do believe in it. It is very rarely to take place nowadays; because back in time, many diseases that are very known today were thought to be signs of Demonic Possesion, for example: Psycosis (im not sure if thats how its spelled). I think that Demonic Possesion can take place by using a Ouija Board. Ouija Boards are said to be Portals/Doors for Demons. I found these stories long time ago on a webpage, you might them interesting:

http://www.theshadowlands.net/ghost/ouija.htm

I still cant understand why stores sell these type of stuff. Im sure they know they are dangerous, or at least, not safe

what do you guys think?

I think Quija board could be Portal or doors for Spirits, evil or not, But, i also think you have to belive in it, If you firmly dont belive nothing will happen, and try it, theres a goos chance nothing will happen.

Like, my friend read teh "Necronomicon" and claimed that evil spirits follwed him for awhile, he truly belived that, i didnt belive it would happen, i think its all mental with this kinda stuff, so i read it, and nothing happend, ever.

It's from the HP Lovecraft universe, a really evil book. As far as I knew, there never was a necronomicon actually in print, it was only mentioned in like, Cthulu and such stories. Which are great stories btw biggrin.gif

I'd like to pick up a copy of the 'nomicon if there is one.

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 7 2007, 03:11 AM

Ahh, well, lovecraft didn't write that book.

Evil dead is awesome!

As far as where to start, try bloodcurdling tales of horror and the macabre. A good collection.

Posted by: The Uncreator Aug 7 2007, 02:14 PM

Oh yeah, Lovecraft himself didnt write, he did invent it though smile.gif

and yes, Evil Dead is Pwnage.

whats datura?

I dont think anybody answered this for you. I will though.
Datura is a halluciniaginc (spelt that all wrong) drug. Its a basically a moon flower. Which is legal. My mom grows it next to hour house. Those are some kickass flowers let me tell you. But basically all you do is take the pods. Boil them. Eat. Then trip. Its very dangerous. And usually always have long term effects. I remember reading a story. And it goes along with this. This kid and his friends were out in the woods. And were telling ghost stories. And this kid was tripping on Datura. He ran through the forest screaming naked. And swears to this day that a banshee was chasing after him. He ran for miles running from it. And was found the next day all messed up. He is still haing problems to this day. I thought it was a funny story. But that made me change my mind about trying datura out tongue.gif

Well, When it comes to drugs, most of the time the ultimate result is nothing but loss.

thanks, i never thought it was a plant, although it sounds like one tongue.gif . I searched on Wikipedia after reading your post and you were right. There are alot of stories about adolescents dying or becoming seriously ill by using Datura.

theres the link if anyone wants to read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datura

thanks again.

Yeah, Datura is more commonly known as Devil's Weed, thorn apple, angel's trumpet, depending on where you come from. It's not only a hallucinogen, it's also fatally poisonous - not much difference in dose between a trip and death. blink.gif Probably one of the most physically dangerous drugs - of course they're all dangerous in some way - physically or mentally.

Countless poisonous, psychedelic and deliriant plants are legal. Some because they have other uses, some because of tradition, some because you really can't do much about them. Datura is a naturally occurring plant, i.e. it spreads without you having to grow it in your garden. Can't really stop that. smile.gif Plus, most people in their right mind, pro-drugs or not, wouldn't go anywhere near Datura. Except for the fact that it's easy to get, of course. Which puts yet another perspective on making drugs illegal/hard to get.
