I've decided to make small etudes from each lick I have troubles with, just to practise them and incorporate them into my playing. Now, the first etude (first lick) I had not problems with initially, until I realised I had to use my first three fingers only. So here's a little etude of that lick. Just as a work out to prepare myself. I mean, if you play at your limit you're going to make more mistakes than if you push your limit a little bit higher, but play at the same level. -edit- Your association is pretty fun to think about. It must mean that your relative pitch is so developed that you hear in fingerings A major third gap is "always" played with pinky (if played on one string of course...), because of the lack of control when using the ringfinger. -2nd edit- I just realized that I need to record on a lower volume, because the sound isn't as good as it should've been. -3d edit- Dang, I really need to use less gain here and probably a little less drive. I have no problem playing two steps at the fifth fret really and this was 12+... Just not used to it because I mostly use my pinky. I'm used to stretching my hands ya know. My piano teacher had me do it all the time and now I can play the root and the third an octave up on the piano (simoultanously with one hand).
