hey Daniel,

i have noticed, that i have to do 2 rythm-assignemts, i thought its only one. i didnt had time the last days because i was very stressed on the weekand and now i have school almost every evening. can you do that two assignments the next two wekks for Februar assignemts please? its very hard to practice that stuff, because i have to concentrate very much for that (more then playing guitar i think).

i have played much guitar for fun on the weekend because i need something for relaxing!

i did the "fur elise" lesson and the "Alice in chains" on the weekend, but i also want to learn your Sklipknot-lesson for REC! (the easier one)

Hey Mirko! it's ok that you do those two rhythm assignments for the next two weeks. It's good that they have taken a lot effort from you, that only means you are getting a lot better. Trust me, when you start recording your own stuff or playing with a band, you'll notice the difference.

The Slipknot style lesson is great for rhythm workout. You have two options, play it on a 7 string guitar or tune a 6 string guitar down from E to B.

ok, so I'll post the new assignments next to this post.

* February's first assignments Due for: 10th of february

- Record and post Speed assignment from GP file. This is a lick taken from "Anguish and fear" by Y. Malmsteen. It's short but challenging to be played at that speed and I know you are now able to do it. There's a whole lot of stuff that we can work on taken from Malmsteen's arsenal so let's start with this lick.

here's a video for it: (lick is at 1:35)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJycuIUSL8M

- Record and post remaining rhythm assignment.

* February's second assignments Due for: 17th of february

- Record and post tapping assignment from GP file. The intro for "Hot for teacher" by Van Halen. A very symmetric type of tapping. Careful with the timing, one note has to be after the other at exact time. Tapping is a great tool to develop speed.

This is a lesson on it:

Hot for teacher intro:

- Record and post remaining rhythm exercise.

* February's third assignments Due for: 24th of february

- Record and post bending and speed assignment from GP file. The final solo for "Octavarium" by Dream Theater. Bendings in this solo have to be treated very carefully and there also some fast but short scales that sound great.

Octavarium razor's edge:

- Record and post February's third rhythm assigment from GP file.

* Record and post REC lesson. Due for: 27th of february

let me know of questions and comments! smile.gif

Make sure you do all alternate picking starting on a down stroke! and maintain the alternate throughout!

the way you are picking isn't being consistent, that makes it very difficult for you to become fast,

even the scale going has to be all alternate

for the broadcasts you can use the cam you use for the MTP videos

yeah, i try to work on that one more time to establish alternate picking. i think i have seen in the video what you are talking about, during playing i dont recognize that...

Daniel,
im really really sorry that i must say you that i cant really continue our MTP at the moment. Im working from 7 oclock in the morning until 5 oclock in the evening, after that i have school until 9 oclock in the evening three times a week. now im 6 weeks before a very important test and i have to learn every evening. maybe i can get a new job with that school, where i can earn almost the double money like now so you see i have to manage that school! after that im two weeks in cuba for holiday and after that i will start again to practice very much!

i hate it, because i love playing the guitar but the next two month i cant do it very often.

i have practiced the tapping assignment maybe for 40 minutes, i cant even play it on 20% speed. i hope to do the rythm assignment and the REC-take from the "alice in chains" lesson in this month!
sad to say but your slipknot lesson is much to hard to practice for me at the moment!

i hope you understand that! it is really great to work with you, i enjoyed the last three month very much, i improved my speed skills and my beding skills very much and im deeply grateful that you spend all that time for me to help me to get a rockstar!

thanks very much!

Hi Mirko,

It's very good that you have your plans put together and that you are going to get to work on them...

Thank you for giving the notice and I hope that you get to practice more when you can, let me know if you need help anyway,

If you have practiced the assigments for this month already it would be good to see you make the attempts even at slower tempos.

It was nice working with you man,

Daniel
