Are there any lessons I can't seem to find on how to play cleaner? Like exercises on how to use your left index finger or right thumb to mute the strings you aren't picking? I'm having a hard time getting the hang of this

I dont know if there are any lessons on this, but have you checked Muris' SRV lesson? I think that might be just what you're looking for.
