There's probably a little bit of country in all of us. Who's your favorite artist and song?

Oh and don't miss Ivan's awesome Country Rhythm Lesson.

Theres so many I could list, but heres a few that immediately come to mind.

The Marshall Tucker Band

This band covers everything from country, rock, blues, jazz, and bluegrass. This song, Fire On The Mountain is more in the vain of country music. Like many country songs, its got a great story.

Heres another song from the same band. The guitar fills in this song are superb, everything just flows together. And of course, can't forget the flute solo.

Big and Rich

This has got to be the most entertaining country band out there today. Dancing midgets, exotic dancers, and lyrics full of sexual innuendos... whats not to like? Let me know if this video doesn't work in your country, and I'll post another one. Embedding was disabled, so heres the link. So whats this song about? Its called Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy), how could you not like such a song?

David Allan Coe

He plays a type of country called Outlaw country. Its rough, rude, and crude. Its the farthest thing from mainstream country music. He recorded an album with Dimebag Darrell called Rebel Meets Rebel. I'll post some of those songs in another thread, this one is getting too long biggrin.gif

This song has the chorus, "If That Ain't Country, I'll Kiss Your Ass" ...Nice.

Gotta love "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by Charlie Daniels.

But, if we're talking more current country, I'd have to say:

"Colder Weather" by Zac Brown Band

Cool Kris biggrin.gif Here's some classics you have to know. After you hear this Kenny Rogers song you'll probably be singing it all day tongue.gif

Kenny Rogers - The Gambler

Garth Brooks - Thunder Rolls

George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today

Garth Brooks and George Jones - Beer Run

This is just for fun biggrin.gif You'll be singing this song every time you send one of your homeboys on a beer run tongue.gif

Kenny Chesney - She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy

This song is so bad its almost good. All he did was take the basic country song formula and inserted sexual innuendos and references to southern life. Its funny what sells records nowadays.
