Notes On The Lines Of The Treble Clef
As we saw in a previous lesson in this series, the notes on the spaces of the Treble Clef spell out the word FACE, which makes it easy to memorize these notes and recognize when you see them in a piece of sheet music.
Though the notes on the lines of the Treble Clef don’t spell out a word, there is a fun little saying that you can use in order to memorize these notes and begin to recognize them in real time when applied to a performance or rehearsal situation.
So, let’s first take a look at what the notes are on the lines of the Treble Clef, and then we can memorize our saying in order to ensure you never forget these notes in the future.
As you can see, the notes on the line are E, G, B, D, F. Which doesn’t spell any word, but which produces the following sentence:
Every
Good
Boy
Deserves
Fudge
Not Shakespeare I know, but it can be a helpful tool when learning these notes and memorizing them so that you can recall them in the future without having a guide or reference in front of you.
That’s a short intro to the notes on the lines of the Treble Clef, and a fun sentence that you can use to memorize these notes, that goes hand-in-hand with the notes on the spaces lesson previously posted.
