Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate,

I have nothing to add to my comments done at the mentoring thread. This is a fantastic take! Let's see what the other instructors have to add.

Congratulations. Keep on the great job!

Well...to be honnest I can't spot anything to complain. Great work - tight timming, good tone match, well sits in the mix, confident and even playing. Clean and clear. Huge congratulations.

I would only like to add a sidenote which is subjective an will not affect my grade at all.
With this kind of funky grooves picking or strumming direction assignment is usually the same as with regular chord strumming so the notes on the strong beats in the bar are being played downwards. In this case we have a 16th notes strumming pulse that will decide for picking direction of each note depending on it's placement in the bar. If you'll carefully review Muris take you'll see that areound 0:03-0:04 (your take) he makes down-strumming twice for those last two strums, while you stop your hand and use a kind of alternate strumming. Try to focus on that aspect in the future. For today, for my taste it's a perfect take!

Cool! I notice you pretty much start all licks in a groovy way and in time, but in many of the longer lick it feels like you loose timing and conviction (00:07, 00:33). Perhaps you start thinking about the next lick too early?

I notice the same thing in my playing when I "think" too much about what to play next. That's why the best playing comes not from thinking but just playing without thinking (aka feeling) - this is obviousy hard since you have to know the material really well.

We're speaking tiny details here that will take your playing from really good to pro. Keep at it! You get an 8 from me.
