Good job on learning this entire thing and playing it at speed. You hit most of it just fine. There are a few bits where it really speeds up that your picking is almost ready but just not quite ready. The music gets just a bit ahead of you and I can hear your hand trying to catch up. You will be able to play this with no problem given a little bit of time and I'm glad to see you jumping in to REC sessions that require you to stretch yourself and push your ability. It's only in this grey area that we actually improve. In that scary space between what we want to play and what we can play. Keep your current practice going and you'll be able to play this with no problem. Maybe come back to it a bit later. For now solid 7 from me.

EDIT: POSTURE. Kris has a great point on posture and I have one on position. Try to use classical position if at all possible during your learning stage. Putting the guitar side sadle as you are doing makes everything harder on the hand/wrist. It's a BIG change and will feel odd but it's worth doing IMHO. Try to put the guitar on your other leg and in the middle. Then put your left food on a stack of books about six inches high. This will change the angle of the neck and let you sit up and not hung over and still be able to see the neck.

I think you got great technical feedback from Gab:

Both the open string part and the Yngwie style picking run feel rushed. Again I want to make sure you do not spend your practising time at these tempos because you will consolidate bad habits that could be hard to get rid of.

I would like to address your posture as well. Playing with a bent neck like you do here is not sustainable. I have been there myself and it will lead to fatigue in your hands and arms + possible neck pain.

Also it makes it much harder to play relaxed, and it will impact your speed, timing etc

My overall impression is that you are pushing things a bit too much. If you gave this lesson a bit more time with a more relaxed approach, this would also be reflected in your posture and ultimately in your tone and quality of playing.

Very first 3 notes - the middle one in original video sounds like it is not being picked, while yours has a clear sound of the pick. Try to confirm that - Gab sounds like he only lets the bend release.

0:10 you do not make muting/breaks between notes as Gab does

0:12 This phrase is missing sound of open string between these hammer-ons

vibratos are a little nervous and have tendency to go out of pitch

Final run has a hand sync problem - you are still not done with this one.


Besides above it is still a pleasant take to listen. You got it's main structures. They only need polishing. Also....from the tonal perspective, some treble could do some good - it all sound "under the blanket" while Gab's tone for this one is rather "open"
