Thanks for requesting...I don't actually own a 5 string (and haven't played it much either), but all the techniques and everything is the same as on 4 string.I would suggest playing around on the 5th string, figure where each note is and everything..Also learning some songs what are played on 5 string will help to give you some ideas how you can use it....Until I buy a 5 string bass smile.gif

I will and thank's the stuff you show here is verry help full I have improved about 60% in just a few weeks. thank you verry mutch. This site is amazing and I look forward to new and exciting lessons every time you post them. Thank's again !!!!

Hi, I often wonder what kind of basslines to add to my own songs/melodies.
As I most often play heavy rock and metal it would be nice with some more examples of these genres.

I'm no expert bassplayer, so I'm requesting something like a level 4 metal bass lesson,
just to get an idea of what I could add my own stuff.

All though it's mostly metal for me, I think bass like this is very melodic and powerful, even addictive:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggEjRDKJbQg
A lesson something like that would also motivate me to play more bass I think.

That's all!

If I had a bass, I'd want to play like Bootsy and Larry Graham -- both those guys were revolutionary and so infectious.

Here's a recent Bootsy collab with Buckethead:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntyOO9Z-p4Y

I was looking for a good early p-funk clip with Bootsy, but u-tube is full of really bad quality fan-shot footage from the 70s. OK for fans, but it doesn't convey the effect of the sound very well.

Here's Larry Graham fooling around in what looks like a studio. Not great music, but a good technique demo:

One of these days I'm going to get a bass...if you've got some Bootsy/Graham lessons, it might happen sooner wink.gif

I'd love to see some John Wetton, or Chris Squier type stuff. Of course, Geddy Lee wouldn't hurt my feelings at all either!

A Steve Harris style lesson would be cool!

Also maybe something in the style of The Beatles (Paul McCartney) would be very nice to play.

Interesting request. Especially for The Beatles Style track smile.gif

Here is something similar to Steve's Style but played with a pick.
