Do you mean that you get a little box come up that says, 'can't record no tracks armed for recording'? If it's this you have to arm the track first. Press the red record button on the left of the volume slider on the track you want to record to. Make sure your signal strength is ok, adjust as required and then you can start the recording by pressing the record button on the tape transport. You are then recording to the selected track.

If it's not this then give us a few more detail about whats going on.

Cheers,
Tony

Hey Shredman. What kind of soundcard are you plugging in to? If you can let's go into the chat and try to solve this.

Have you armed the track - is the red button (left hand side immediately below the track number) on the track you want to record to lit ? You arm it after you have added the track.

...Sorry got to go out for a bit - be back in a few hours but I'll help if you need when I get back.

Cheers,
Tony

It was the craziest thing.I had to delete the configuration file from when i downloaded reaper. After doing this i guess it make reaper look for all my hardware and it found my mic input. tongue.gif Very strange but i will post it on here so if anybody else has this problem they can look.Smurkas on here is the man biggrin.gif he run me through the whole thing life a customer service tech would have done laugh.gif .It realy helped though ,now i just need a decent Mic worth recording on laugh.gif

Thanks again though Tony wink.gif
