I see sometimes a lot of experienced guitarist for example Muris and others like actually professionals when vibrato looks as if when they use their second or third finger to do so, they have their pointer or first finger straight and I guess vibrato from a pivot on a diagonal.

Sorry its hard to explain but just think of doing simple vibrato with the 2nd or 3rd finger.

I wanted to know is there any specific reasons behind it or why its done, ex is it classical posture, etc

I think i get what you mean smile.gif
I don't really worry about how my hand is positioned during vibrato, i just try to keep my playing relaxed. I think that you'll learn different vibrato positions over time even if you don't pay any attention to them.

And also, i find the middle finger best for vibrato. If it's what you asked... smile.gif

If by straight you mean the first (index) finger is not fretting but rather straight across all (or or many) strings similar to a barre chord, then the answer is that we're muting the other strings with that one.

Yes that's what I do most of the time to avoid noise from other strings.

Ah ha! Thanks guys! I guess it takes a bit of coordination to place it there every time, because I tried it and and sometimes I forget to place it their. I'll utilize it though, sounds logical and useful. Sometimes I do hear other noises because of wide aggressive vibrato.

Thanks again guys!

Just try to practice with your index like that all the time, and after a while it will show in your playing no problem.

Yes, that's because of the noise, but you can also cover that with your right hand!

Exactly! Good muting technique requires work with both hands.
