Hi Guys,
Just joined today and my first post.
I play regularly with two other guitarists and we generally practice at each others homes.
We'd like to start using a drum machine.
I'm looking for some recoemmendations.
Basically I'm looking or something which we can program various drum beats and ideally can also be operated by a foot switch because I'd like to be able to control the drum breaks (as well as stop and start the machine without having to constantly reach down).
Is anyone using a drum machine and what are their thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike

The Alesis SR16 is a classic and costs about $150 - I used one of these for years with sequencing software but you can get some great beats out of it as a standalone instrument. It has a footswitch, but its just for starting and stopping, I don;t think you can use it to trigger breaks, but you can program in an entire song with breaks in all the right places.

If you just want a good basic model...Zoom makes the RhythmTrack. I think it runs:$99.00 or close to that.

Thanks - I was looking at the Zoom. Not sure if it will do drum breaks with a footswitch though?
I'd be very interested in hearing from anyone who has one.

I think it will, but you need to buy the seperate footswitch.
Good luck. Let us know what you decide on.
