I live in a part of the world where we have snow 8 months a year. Right now we have about 40 cm and it's freezing, -22 degrees celsius (-7.6 Fahrenheit), but it's ok. It'll get worse in december/january/february until it gets better in march... There's always a period where we're down to -30-35 degrees. It usually only last for a week or so, but still...
Here's a photo from my home town, this is an old wooden castle just outside of town...

Looks like the same amount of snow we got here today. And it will keep on snowing to the next week.
When I left from work there was 2 buses on the bus stop. Crashed to each other. Also trains were late, cruise ships to Estonia and Sweden were really late. All police told people to leave cars home.
But finally we got snow here - but too much that we can handle.

Nice pics.
I hate the cold, it's only fun when you are inside with some good food and a fireplace, then it can be as cold as it wants outside.
We don't get as much snow as in north Sweden, Finland and most often not as much as those pictures from Russia. But today 1st of December I woke up to the first little cover of white this winter. I ride my bike 7 kilometers to work, so I hope to have no snow on monday. I'd fit better in Spain or maybe California this time of year.

Im with ulrik on this topic.I hate the cold! My sure way method to deal/survive the snow and cold is to avoid it. It looks nice from behind the window standing by a heater:P I grew up in a sub-tropical climate where 12 degrees C was a freezing winters day!, but nowadays im living in Germany. Everytime the winter and snow rolls on in I always have that moment of thinking, "Why the hell im i here"!

Ha, you don't live that far from Rottweil. I heard you guys at the Bodensee even got more snow than we did this week.

Yeah Its really weird for the area! There is more snow now then there was all last winter! (almost!) There's been a layer of snow for the last few days, usually it just melts away into a nice slush!

I just went outside to take the dog for a short walk. It was so cold it made my eyeballs hurt.
What's that all about ???
Posted by: Dieterle Dec 1 2012, 01:22 PM
for a walk with the dog a good season now -- the dirt is hard now and i don`t have to wash my dog
after running strait through the fields
but it feels like this year we get a hard and real winter time !
..... great pictures in this thread thanks for sharing it!

makes me yearn for the home lands, i grew up in Uppland Orbyhus and move to australia in 87, I was 12, right now it is 38 degrees and it's only 9am. I'm melting just sitting here but I have another trench to dig, there is a good chance I'm going to die.
Those photos from russia look awesome, I have similar photos from the farm back in sweden.
