Guys, after posting a picture with the Aria guitar recording sessions, Gabe suggested I should share my thoughts on recording with a digital device rather than tube amps, which we used until now.
Fate had it that we had no studio at hand in this moment and we had to use the famed AxeFX
All in a nutshell:
AxeFX - versatile, but way too complex for my taste. I simply don't like to spend that much time on figuring out a decent tone which I can use on a recording and that's a major downer.
Tube amps - every nuance is audible due to the high level dynamics, so you need to spend time recording as perfect as possible, but hey, the result can be brilliant, right?
I can't say I dislike the results given by the AxeFX so far, but still (maybe I am too old fashioned?) I am craving after being able to record with a tube amp.
I will post samples of the tones we have created pretty soon, but until then let's share experiences on the matter
