Hi guys! This weekend I'm touring with my band Cirse because we had a gig yesterday in Rosario (Santa Fe), and tomorrow in Cordoba. Fortunately this is the first time that none of us has to drive since the producer of the shows contracted a tour small bus. So we can sleep and listen to music without being alert of the road.... I have some cool music at my cell phone and I have been also reading from my kindle.

That's why I though in starting a thread to say what bands/songs/albums you like to hear when you are travelling. smile.gif

I have been listening to punk rock (like RAmones and Bad Religion) , progressive (like Mars Volta, and Tool) and also some post rock, post hardcore.

What about you?

In situations like that, I'm quite interested in hearing music I've never heard before so it's cool to let other people choose the music and you get to hear something new smile.gif

Is that because they've got really long albums and you don't have to change the music for ages ? tongue.gif

That's one of the reasons I like listening to them on long journeys biggrin.gif

I usually listen to albums I recently bought when I'm travelling. I'm in Münster at the moment and will travel back to Rottweil tomorrow, listening to the new albums from Slash, Tenacious D, The Hives and the Donots ( a german pop-punk band).

Generally, I think bands like AC/DC and Black Stone Cherry make music that is great for travelling. The rhythm just fits for a long ride with 130 km/h on the german Autobahn biggrin.gif

Ahh road trip music smile.gif

I like to listen to a bit of everything just to keep it interesting. However there are certain songs that have to be there:

Closer - Nine Inch Nails: For me this is the perfect driving song... although my foot tends to get a bit heavy wink.gif

Domino - KISS: Love this song and again a great one to drive too.

Up to No Good - Porn Kings: It's a dance song but I love it!! smile.gif

Ace of Spades - Motorhead: Nothing like Lemmy to keep ya awake on the road.

Home for a Rest - Spirit of the West: Great celtic rock song

Poor Paddy - The Pogues: It's the Pogues do I need to say more

Tumbling Dice - The Rolling Stones: Favourite song by the Stones

Little Bones - The Tragically Hip: If you are Canadian no road trip is complete without a bit of The Hip along for the ride smile.gif

Those are just a few, I have a long list smile.gif I love to sing along on road trips so enter the vehicle at own risk... smile.gif I have a huge trip coming up soon and am loading my phone up in a few days. I have some new stuff picked out like Mark Tremonti's new single "You Waste Your Time" Slash and Myles Kennedy's new one "You're a Lie" and a band by the name of Alabama Shakes who I recently found and love!!

Have a blast this weekend Gabriel smile.gif

I listen to Megadeth (coz I am not driving laugh.gif tongue.gif )
If I drive, definitely not megadeth coz I'll be speeding up too much... laugh.gif

I wonder how do drummers drive while listening to music
Especially Nick Menza (wonder how'd he drive listening to something like Peace Sells and Wake Up Dead)

Yes, Megadeth does make you feel like speeding. Sometimes, only Megadeth will do. I swear that nothing comes close to their up tempo, tight, precise chugging. cool.gif

I didn't have Opeth in my Cellphone but it would have been great to listen to Opeth during this trip.
