Yeah, sounds killer, although I don't know what it's supposed to sound like. Not trained. wink.gif

It sounds killer!! I'm not sure but maybe it's close to Peavey 5150? I like the sound.

Hehe, well if Ol' Nick did have a day job it would most likely be modding amps for metal bands !! laugh.gif

yeah, but it sounds very similar to 5150 and the Peavy metal amps in general, not sure what was exactly modded smile.gif

Cool tones wink.gif A "before" would be cool so we could compare it to the "after". Is he swapping out tubes/transformers?

The pickups are Joe Barden Pickups. These pickups had some popularity during the 80's. They're very expensive, but everyone that plays them says they're the best pickups they've ever played. From what I understand, the designer is a proper electrical engineer and a musician, and designed these pickups to offer the most tone you can get from a passive design.

From what I understand its a circuitry mod, plus adding gain and adding the option of having EL34 or 6L6. Check out his website to see all his mods for the 5150/6505

I'm a bit confused... they offer mods.. which I assume that are clones... aren't they?

If you check this page, you'll find some very low prices.. is that the price of the cloned amp?

Could you please clarify it?? smile.gif thanks!

Mods and clones are two different things biggrin.gif

Jerry, the owner and tech of this company, offers mods and can build you a clone of any amp to you specification. He also can build one to your custom specs.

So the amp demonstration I posted is a Peavey 5150II that he modified for a customer. On his website he lists what his modifications are and what they do. So the Soldano link you posted just lists the modifications he does to to Soldano amps. The prices listed is just the price of the mods, not the price for him to build you a clone amp.

Just about and modification you can think of, he can do it to your amp. Whether its you want another stage of gain or another channel, he does it.

I hope that clarifies this for you, if not, please ask biggrin.gif
