I like it, has a funky sound to it... did you do all the tracks or is that a backing youre playing along to?

Thanks guys...appreciate you taking the time to listen.

It's very good man, great fusion type tune. I would suggest a couple of things,

Mixing - Kick and snare sound little synthetic, and they should be 1-2dB lower.

Guitar playing - sounds very good, but it would be even better, if there were some main theme, and a structured improvising. This way you get a bunch of licks tied together with pauses. Playing is good, and phrasing as well, but need more fine tuning.

Backing - One or two more key changes and some kind of a bridge in the middle would definitely make this backing shine. This way it sounds kinda looped. But it is OK, I like it reminds me on a musician from these parts that uses same type of backings and makes pretty interesting stuff.

Ivan, thanks for your feedback. Kick drums down a few DB....I'll give that a try on the new recordings... I've always had a bit of trouble getting those mixed right...and they are synth from the Boss DR880. But it seems to get the job done for home recording.

And yeah, I've been told about verse and chorus before... I guess I just get some tracks down, then just build from there... Sometimes I do the verse/chorus thing, sometimes I just do an idea...I guess you could call it. Just keepin it fun.

Really appreciate your feedback smile.gif

Very cool improv man!! Regarding the mix , drums definitely have to be lower in the mix...Backing it self is cool, more chord changes are welcome though..Regarding the solo , you played a lot of cool licks and everything...Try playing a little more with phrases though..You are making pauses , that is a good thing. But try varying their length and extending and playing some longer passages too to give some balance...You are a little repeating yourself with placement of those pauses..Think about it like a conversation, you sometimes speak short sentences and sometimes really long ones.Combine smile.gif

Thanks Bogdan
I'm actually working on the phrasing conversation style thing with my next jam. And the mix as well.
Hopefully inching closer to a formula that works.

Thanks again for your input smile.gif
