Well the animals that were killed was eaten. It wasn't really killed for enjoyment. It was meant to show people surving in the natural form of way. The movie was more than just gore, and animal killings.

Oooooooh this is like my second favourite topic of conversation. I'm a huge movie buff smile.gif As for favourite movies of all time well there are many But here are a few

The Silence of the Lambs
Gone with the Wind
The Pirate Movie - cheesy 80's musical that is the worst movie put to film but I love it soooooo much smile.gif
Jaws
The Godfather
Resevoir Dogs
To Kill a Mockingbird
An Affair to Remember
It Happened One Night
Grease
The Usual Suspects
The Magnificant Seven
A Christmas Story - Best christmas movie ever smile.gif
The Departed
Transformers - Best action movie I've seen in years....plus huge flashback to my childhood smile.gif
The Untouchables
Snatch
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Goodfellas
Heat
Seven
Stand By Me
The Princess Bride
Clerks - Basically anything Kevin Smith does I love.
The Hunt for Red October
The Shawshank Redemption
The Shining
The Goonies
Predator
Office Space
Life of Brian
The Lost boys
Casino
......I'd mention this one but I'm not suppose to talk about it....first rule and all smile.gif tongue.gif
Platoon
Full Metal Jacket
American History X

There are tons more believe me...mostly from 1930-1970 but I'll stop there. I never even got into the series like Original Star Wars, Indian Jones, Die Hard, Lord of the Rings, James Bond and stuff. Or Directors, actors etc oh how I could keep going but would take up to much room. smile.gif

I Am Legend

I saw it some days ago, it's absolutely fantastic!! Everyone, go check it out!

Posted by: Spiderusalem Dec 31 2007, 01:15 AM

I agree. I am Legend is awesome. Thats the first time I was ever actually scared by CGI.

You ever notice how you can sum up a Will Smith movie with the phrase "Will smith fights <blank>"

I Robot: Will Smith Fights Robots
Independance Day : Will Smith Fights Aliens
Men in Black 1 & 2 : Will Smith Fights Illegal Aliens
Wild Wild West: Will Smith Fights steampunk cowboys
I am Legend: Will Smith Fights Zombie/Vampires
Enemy of the State: Will Smith Fights "The Man"
Hitch: Will Smith Fights Loneliness
Pursuit of Happiness: Will Smith Fights Poverty
Ali: Will Smith Fights

Ahh gotta disagree with ya there thought by day it was great film with a good performance from will smith but the night stuff was some of the worst cg i have ever seen

Indeed, theres always something about movies with Will Smith in them that I cant take seriously - I think its that cheesy, grinning shoot everything and its cool aspect that takes up the larger part of his on screen persona, they say he was the original choice for Neo in the Matrix, for me he would have killed it.

Edit: I've not seen I am Legend as the cinema was fully booked when I went to watch it, but I heard the critics opinion which was that "Will Smiths acting was dire, it was just as well he had no-one to act with", I also heard the CGI was pretty sheddy.

My fav movies?

The Matrix
Pulp Fiction
The Godfather 1 & 2
Trainspotting

I Am Legend is very different from those cliché action comedies.

My friend who is home for Christmas from Scotland came over yesturday with her 9 yr old to watch some movies. Now from the list you'd think we let the 9 yr old pick the films but I'll admit I own all the movies and picked them out smile.gif . By the way I don't think I should watch these around anyone anymore as I tend to sing along....and not very well I might add smile.gif Here is what we watched:

The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
The Jungle Book
Peter Pan
The Little Mermaid

It was a very musical day and a lot of fun. I love musicals and Disney Movies biggrin.gif

We have a relative who used to work for Disney, resulting in a huge collection for us.
Everything from Aristocats, Lady and the Tramp on up.

By the way, lots of "kids" movies are pretty cool, too.

Shrek
Madagascar
Cars
Ice Age
etc.

Is "Vampire Hunter D" available on DVD? omg! I found it. Didn't know that. Ordering it now.

"I am Legend" was a great movie and all the Bob Marley references ALMOST made it an "Immortal movie" but not quite. It lacks something. I dont remember Will saying "Hell no!". That might be what's missing.

Jumping in here buuuut my favourite movies (in no real order) are......

JAWS
Oldboy
The Big Lebowski
The Matrix (only when pretending the second and third film don't exist laugh.gif )
Before Sunrise
Before Sunset
Jurassic Park (for nostalgia factor)
Spinal Tap (effin' Stonehenge! laugh.gif )
No Country for Old Men
Lord of the Rings trilogy (these are more like an annual event come Christmas time)
Die Hard (best christmas movie ever!)
Aliens
A Scanner Darkly (disliked it at first but completely changed my opinion by the end)
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - still the best single movie experience i've had in a cinema (unfortunately loses some sparkle when watched on the small screen without company!)
Donnie Darko (theatrical cut) - this only counts for the first time i watched the film. Subsequent viewings become less enjoyable once you've figured out what's going on.
The Incredibles - my favourite Pixar film so far.
Rocky
Rocky 4 - whilst undoubtedly cheesier than hell, this was a childhood favourite, plus Ivan Drago owns your soul.
Back to the Future - 1.21 gigawatts!!!

Welllllllll i'm sure there are more but those are the only ones i can remember off the top of my head!

As for 'Snakes on a plane'; any time a movie has the line 'If you wanna live, you better come with me.....IF you wanna live', has to be played for laughs. Only 'Anaconda' comes close to that movie for unintentional laughs.

I thought the Matrix 2 was even better than the first since it has more action and gets into philosophy a lot more. The movie is loaded full of themes/overtones/symbolism/allusions/etc that makes it great for a nerd like me to sink my teeth into.

The matrix 3 was horrid. To me, it seemed like "alright, sorry guys, we apologize for getting over your head on the second one, here's one loaded with shiny things and no real plot to cap off the trilogy". If not for all of the dumb masses in the viewing majority we could have had a proper conclusion to the series.

Other films I really enjoy:

Interview with the Vampire
The Blade trilogy (good action sequences tongue.gif)
Old Boy
This is Spinal Tap
V for Vendetta (some of the most gorgeous dialog, especially his introduction of himself to Evey)
Gladiator
Braveheart
Starship Troopers
Grandma's Boy
The Departed
