Hi Guys,
Im Steev, I have been playing on and off for quite a few years, not really getting very far. I am interested in creating chord melodies for solo unaccompanied guitar from the jazz standards. I can build chords ontop of melody lines but have trouble making it interesting or filling in the gaps between sustained notes that carry for a full bar and change to another chord at the end.
I noticed that the lessons dont seem to be in any order, other than skill level and genre. Can anyone suggest perhaps 10 or more lessons in some sort of order that I can follow to achieve my goal?
This is a great site and I look forward to interacting with members and tutors in the future.

Steev

Hi Steev, welcome to GMC !:)

I must admit to being hopeless when it comes to jazz.. aside from pointing you in the direction of instructors who play that kind of stuff, I can't offer much advice about how to progress in that area

You've probably encountered them already. However, I'm confident one of my comrades here will be able to offer you a bit more direction smile.gif

Hey Steve! Welcome to GMC! You are most likely going to find a lot of jazz related material here so, starting off where Bogdan and Ben suggested will be a good choice wink.gif

see you around man!

Hi Steev! Welcome to GMC! smile.gif
The Jazz notes series are fantastic if you want to learn to play that style. Let me add Alejandro Pinero's lessons because he has really interesting lessons about harmonizing the scales with triads which is a great tool for playing chord melody.

Check his lessons here:
