These are hand wound, boutique, pickups made from the highest quality parts. I've got one already in my Dean and it sounds so much better than any of my Duncan pickups that I had to get a full set. Not to say I dont like Duncans But they are just not in the same league. It's like comparing a hand made SUHR to a shop built Ibby Prestige. Sure both are nice guitars, but very different in many respects. When You see pickups from one producer's offer, we see many different models, many different constructions inclusing the size of coils, wire material and thickness, magnet size, magnet position, magnet type. differet pole pieces. Sometimes ceramic pickups can be a bit fizzy or dark under really high gain where alnico pickups have a bit less gain on their own and hold up a bit better it seems. The only real differences I've been able to detect are from really small boutique vendors and I suspect it's because they don't use the same mass market materials.
