I was just checking out some new yamaha head phones I bought and I sound a lot better. laugh.gif
I do not like the way the cord pulls on my head but the cord will stretch eventually, just like the phone.
So what kind of speakers can I get that will sound this way through my PC? I am playing through a guitar port and the Gearbox software. I had no idea it could sound like this.

Any good set of monitors will do fine.
Behringer makes some good and cheap ones smile.gif

Yes, it of course all depends on budget and what you want to do.

As Bogdan says, a decent set of 2.1 PC speakers would be fine for jamming. If you want to get a little more serious about making tracks and mixing, then go with Trond's advice for a pair of powered monitors. With monitors, you pretty much get what you pay for, at least up to the 1 - 2K bracket, but even reasonably priced monitors should give you the clean sound you are looking for and will form the basis of a nice little studio with the POD and some recording software such as Reaper.

If you don't have the cash for monitors, a HiFi amp and Speakers will also work if you have an old one lying around - the thing to avoid is using a guitar amp.

Good Altec Lansing 2.1 set or monitors by Behringer will take the audio experience to another level for a small amount of green paper.

Thanks everyone. I do have a set of Logitech Z3's. They are a few years old and I do not think they are 2.1 but I am not even familiar with what 2.1 is. I tried to find out but no luck. I am going to check out all the options mentioned here and see what I can afford.

So I figured out what 2.1 means. 2 speakers and 1 sub. That is what I have but maybe they are just crap. ;-)

PC speakers are most of the time bad in quality, that's why they cost 50e and monitors cost 300e.

I did some reading, figured out what I wanted and went and bought them today. Makes a big difference. I bought a set of Mackie MR5's. Very nice, sounds much better through the guitar port, more balanced I guess is the right word. When I crank it up the wife does'nt complain as the sound is cleaner. They were on sale so I had to do it. Big sale at Guitar center this weekend. Not sure I really needed 2 of them but that is what I got. ;-)
