its a tab editor, heres a link for it http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php

you can use it to compose and play along with etc.

I dont use it personally although I think its definatly worth a purchase for the future.

Its a way of seeing tabs. Its a great program where you can load tabs that other people have created- lessons, or ultimate guitar and alot of people get creative and make their own stuff using GP5.

There are many extras like scale references and chord diagrams and a metronome etc also.

There are quick tour videos here

http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php?pg=product-video

That should give you a basic idea smile.gif

>A very handy tool- it wont make you a better musician but its a tool that alot of guitarists use regularly.

Its a good learning aid software that displays tabs and lets you hear them play..Also features a scales, chords and everything..Its very useful and most of GMC lessons feature guitar pro tab (of paticular lesson) so you can listen to the tab using guitar pro and speed it up or down for practicing etc.. wink.gif

Great program which uses MIDI sounds to emulate other instrumenst - not just guitar. You can tab songs easily with it and this is why there are vast number of GP tab files on the internet. (be weary of piracy).

It is a great tool to get you started, but do not overuse it. It is only a handy tool, but will slow you down if you practice with it too much, because you will not focus on developing your ear with it, if you practice wrong. I hope this makes sence to you. smile.gif

Just got it and love it. I've learned to read tabs but this really helps me identify the notes as oposed to just the fingering. I've even wrote my first riff! ohmy.gif
